Krav Maga is a relatively new, modern and extremely effective self-defense and melee system. It builds on instinctive and natural movements and can be learned and applied by untrained and inexperienced women and men after only a short time.
Krav Maga has an Israeli origin and was originally developed by Imi Sde-Or for the border troops and special forces. Since it was designed for use on the street, there are no rules or competitions for this melee / contact fight. Krav Maga combines boxing, kickboxing, knife fighting, stick fighting, ground fighting, aikido, karate, judo, jiu-jitsu and some other systems. Krav Maga has two key core areas – melee combat and all types of attack prevention. Students learn defensive techniques against all sorts of attacks such as strangleholds, punches, kicks, knife and stick attacks, and the attack of vulnerable areas on the attacker’s body. like the throat, the eyes or the genitals. It should be unnecessary violence,
Why should Krav Maga be learned?
Krav Maga makes it possible to defend against Aggressor. It provides self-confidence and self-esteem, improves quality of life and makes you feel no longer helplessly exposed to potential dangers. Experience has shown that training self-defense skills reduces the chances of becoming a victim because it gives a confident impression. Should it nevertheless come to a self-defense situation, then one has realistic chances, without prejudice to get out of the situation. Through the training one learns to assess dangerous situations more realistically and to adapt to the situation correctly.
For whom is Krav Maga suitable?
Krav Maga is learnable for everyone, regardless of gender, age or physical conditions. After all, anyone can be the victim of an attack. It was designed so that even untrained people can be brought to a high level of self-defense within a very short time. Different physical conditions are not a problem.
Krav Maga techniques
In Krav Maga you do not learn rigid techniques, but practice instinctive and natural defensive actions. These should be learned as realistically as possible taking into account psychological stressors. Krav Maga should train the natural human reflexes so that they can be used effectively in threatening situations of any kind. Krav Maga does not need to follow any special procedures; the learned basic movements are only combined with other dynamic moves. This freedom of improvisation makes it possible to adapt to the situation in question as quickly as possible.
The techniques are easy to learn and easy to remember even without too much training. If due to unfavorable anatomical conditions, a technique can not be performed, an attempt will be made to find an alternative with the instructor, because Krav Maga has set itself the goal to find the right solution for each student.
Level of Krav Maga?
The training program is divided into levels. This will ensure rapid progress in Krav Maga and make classroom teaching more transparent. Beginners and advanced learners are then trained depending on the level and a noticeable learning success sets in quickly.
Level 1: In this level beginners and all Krav Maga students learn the basics of self-defense (positions, simple punch and kick combinations, defense against punches, liberation and pacing)
Level 2: For all Krav Maga students who master the Krav Maga basics. The basic techniques are combined in a variety of positions, conditions, situations and also high speed and reflex training.
Level 3: This level requires the previous two and prepares you for the next one. You can practice combinations of level 1 and 2 as well as defenses against attacks eg with and against weapons.
Level 4: This requires the techniques and melee behavior of the other levels. It mainly includes defense against and active use of weapons, ground combat and sparring, attacking multiple attackers and scenario training. But self-solve skills, defense of third persons, threats of weapons, throws or fixation techniques are appropriated.
Level All: The level is suitable for beginners and advanced Krav Maga students alike and content from the Krav Maga program is taught up to level 3.
